Olivier,
in two words ? Peter
Pan...
... and I could not
hope for better ! Behind his grey-green-blue eyes lie dreams,
lots of dreams, and thousands
of ideas, but also the power and the ambition to make them come
true. Like Peter Pan, he has an Adventure Island hidden somewhere
in his head, and has even managed to find its tangible equivalent,
Crozet, that he had a hard time leaving... But when he flies
away, he is never alone. He has this unique gift to attract the
people he meets into his orbit, and to get loved by them without
even trying to
please. That's what happened to me...
But what is so special
with this out-of-time, dreamy, shy, but also terribly determined
guy when it's about what / whom he loves ? Despite his sporty
looks that have peopled the dreams of generations of girls from
Palaiseau (secret family sources... out of here girls, he's mine
now !), he is far from being a playboy : mister Olivier is a
shy guy, at least with beautiful girls he doesn't know ! And
with the rest of the world... a childhood friend who knows him
by heart said once that Olivier was the only guy in the world
who could invite a girl to "go and see the stars tonight with
my telescope" without any second thoughts ! And of course, this
is what is attractive, isnt' it ?
So, Mister Peter
Pan is a passionate man...
He
likes : impressive landscapes
with snowy peaks, looking at the stars for hours during
freezing nights, eating chocolate on his "Brioche",
rhubarb pies and raspberry cakes, having his back
rubbed when he is tired, pouring ice-cold water over
his girlfriend, huddling up in bed with his favourite
stuffed animal, climbing to the top of a 5.11 way,
and go traveling on a bent !
He
doesn't like : spending
a week-end inside or without sports, when his girlfriend
is reading instead of taking care of him, cooking anything
else than "brioche" and butter, sleeping late in bed,
the mere idea of a tie, taking out his mask under water,
speaking in public, sedentarity !
Other jumbled
adjectives to decribe him :
- A dreamer
: sometimes in the middle
of a conversation his voice wanders, his eyes get out
of focus... and there he is, lost on another planet ! (it
can sometimes be quite upsetting !). He always has at
least 10 projects in mind : his tent to repair, a filter
for his telescope, a shelf to make for the plants, next
week-end coming
up, friends to see, photo albums to complete, it never
ends !
- Creative
and a real handyman :
he has imagined, drawn plans for, and sawn his own tent...
and it's worth the best North Face ! Also from the Boutard's
workshop : bike saddlebags, a shelf for my books made from
old bed boards , two or three little shelves for plants,
printer,
etc ., and his last creation, fleece and silk "toe-warmers"
for cold nights under the tent !
- A sportsman
:
and that's it ! Running, moutain treks, glaciers, climbing,
ice climbing, bike, bent, monobike, paragliding, and a
very recent diving diploma level II !
- Obstinate
:
when he has something in mind, it's impossibe to have him
do anything else ! Well, this is also how we completed
this big project !
- A real
kid : it might come from all this time spent with
the boy scouts... but he loves to tease, from tickles to
water fights, paint smearing and the old bucket of water
on the door edge (oh yes... and so many others...). When
he sneers of his jokes, it becomes unbearable...
- Nostalgic :
He only remembers the good moments, but then has trouble
to stop looking in the past... ask him about Crozet for
example!
- Social :
not in the "dancing parties" way, but he can't stand loneliness
: if his girlfriend abandons him for the USA whales, he spends
his nights on the phone with his family and countless friends...
and has sometimes troule finding enough time to see them
all !
Olivier has this
special gift for making people happy... starting with me...
He changed my life, still changes it, and I hope he'll never
stop !
